The Terror of the Lord

Posted onApril 22, 2010April 22, 20108 Comments

Last night, I had my last Facebook fling. I was adding a few friends, despite a hesitation in my spirit: “Don’t do that.” As I left my computer to go to bed, I felt that something was not right, as Read More …

You may wonder what the above has to do with each other. Rest assured, there is a connection! We celebrated Jesus’ resurrection yesterday—triumphing over sin, death, the grave, the Pharisees, Satan, and the Law of Moses. Yes, the Law of Read More …

Christian Militia

There is no such thing as a “Christian” militia. I heard that term on the radio the other day, as the reporter talked about a group that was training in fighting and planning to kill police officers. That is the Read More …

It’s Not an Easy Road

“It’s not and easy road we are traveling to Heaven”, says the song by John W. Peterson. God has not promised us an easy trip to Heaven. He has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. But Read More …

What Shall We Call the Lord?

Posted onMarch 1, 2010Leave a comment

Some people teach that we should call God by His Hebrew names. They continue this by calling Jesus “Yeshua” (Or the many variants—Yahsua, Yahashua, Y’shua, etc.), and may even do things like calling Paul “Sh’aul” and Moses “Moshe”. Are they Read More …

God’s Provision

A little over a year ago, our aging ‘95 Dodge van went kaput while we were driving in Pennsylvania on our way to pick up pullets (young hens). We had a fiasco getting the pullets and our van back home—but Read More …

Last evening, I saw a post on the question of the headcovering. The gist was, this young lady had wondered about whether she should follow 1 Corinthians 11L2-16 literally or not, so she talked to her father about it and Read More …

Shredded Bibles: NIV and Head Covering

Posted onFebruary 4, 20102 Comments

Last week I wrote about shredded Bibles that are missing vital truths of Scripture. God showed me something about head covering that relates to the “shredded Bibles”. I wrote about long hair not being the covering of 1 Cor. 11 Read More …

Stand Fast in Liberty

Posted onJanuary 25, 2010Leave a comment

I am amazed at the ways some people will seek to put us under the Old Covenant. It is akin to finding reasons for going to jail, or going to a monastery. It is bondage. God says: Stand fast therefore Read More …

Disclaimer

This blog is a real-time journal of a journey out of a cult. When I began this blog in 2010, I was in an abusive situation, held captive by years of programming that told me I needed to submit more, obey more, shut up, and be quiet. As a result, the early entries are laced with the toxicity of the cult teachings and legalism that I was under at the time.

Since then, my life has drastically changed. I broke free from the cult teachings and have been slowly learning to follow Jesus instead of legalistic garbage. It's been a long, hard slog.

This means that there are many posts on this blog that I no longer agree with or hold to be true. I could go back through and delete or hide them; however, at this point, I choose to leave them visible. They are the journal entries of a man leaving abuse and legalism and coming into the light of day. They provide a raw, unfiltered look at "where I was". Take them for what they are.

And if you find something you disagree with, there's a good chance that I would now disagree with it as well.
